On 1 August 2016, we submitted our first Advisory Report titled “Commuters at the Heart of Singapore’s Public Transport System” to the Minister for Transport. The report carried the key insights from our engagement with various groups
of commuters and stakeholders and focused on how to improve customer service and enhance the commuter experience on the public transport system.
The recommendations in the report were based on commuter feedback that PTC had taken on board. In putting forth the recommendations. PTC also took into consideration the best practices of other cities in the public transport arena. The recommendations covered four areas: a) improvements for seniors, wheelchairs users and families with young children; b) better information provision; c) a more commuter-centric design; and d) a deeper sense of community on public transport.
